Shiva Abhishekam

Sri Shiva Abhishekam (the ritual for cleansing the deity) involves pouring sacred nectars while chanting mantras symbolizing the act of purification, sanctification, and divine anointment. The word "Abhisheka" is derived from the Sanskrit root "abhi," meaning "towards," and "sheka," meaning "to pour." Sri Shiva Abhishekam is performed as a part of the Nithya Pujas (daily rituals) at Sri Ganesha Temple Plano at 10:00 am.

Significance of Pradosham

Pradosham, a sacred observance in Hindu tradition, holds immense spiritual significance for devotees of Lord Shiva. It is a time for seeking divine grace, forgiveness, and liberation from negative karma. Observed twice a month during the twilight period on the 13th day (Trayodashi) of the lunar fortnight, Pradosham is considered the most auspicious time to connect with Lord Shiva and invoke his blessings. Devotees can observe the Pradosha Puja on every Trayodashi at Sri Ganesha Temple Plano at 6:45 pm as the Rithwicks chant Rudram & Chamakam.
