The Significance of Mahalaya Paksha

Mahalaya Paksha, also known as Pitru Paksha, is a sacred fortnight dedicated to honoring our ancestors. This year, it is observed from September 26 – October 10, 2026.

Tarpanam is available daily throughout Mahalaya Paksha for $101. Pre-booking is required for all Tarpanams.

Mahalaya Amavasya

According to our tradition, Mahalaya Amavasya is the day that Lord Vishnu permits the departed souls to return to Earth. All can offer tarpana to all departed souls on this day.

Mahalaya Amavasya falls on Friday, October 9 – Saturday, October 10, 2026. Samuhika Tarpanam is available in batches every 45 minutes on both days.
