General Donation

Since 2006, Sri Ganesha Temple Plano has served the religious and spiritual needs of Hindus across North Texas. It began in March 2006 with the Prana Prathishtapana of Sri Ganesha and Lord Shiva, and today it is home to Sri Murugan, Guruvayur Sri Krishna, Sri Ayyappa, Sri Hanuman, Sri Durga, Sri Venkateswara and the Parivara Devathas.

What your general donation sustains

  • Daily worship, beginning with the Ganapathi Homam each morning, followed by archanas and pujas through the day and the Maha Mangala Arati
  • At least two resident priests and a full-time front desk team who look after every devotee who visits
  • The everyday running of the temple, from upkeep and utilities to its festivals and community programs

A general donation is used where the temple needs it most. In this Kali Yuga, charity (daan) is held to be the highest dharma. Thank you for helping keep the temple open, the lamps lit and our tradition alive.
