Realizing that neither his physical power nor worldly strength could save him, Gajendra completely surrendered to the Supreme Lord. With a lotus flower held high in his trunk, he offered a heartfelt prayer to Lord Narayana, placing his faith entirely in the Divine.
The Lord immediately heard the sincere cry of His devotee.
Without delay, Lord Mahavishnu mounted Garuda and rushed to Gajendra's rescue. As soon as He arrived, He released the Sudarshana Chakra, which instantly severed the crocodile's grip, freeing Gajendra from his suffering and granting liberation to both the elephant and the crocodile.
