Aadi Pooram 2026

Aadi Pooram is one of the most sacred festivals dedicated to Goddess Shakti, celebrating the divine appearance of Goddess Andal and honoring the compassionate and nurturing aspect of the Divine Mother. Across South India, the day is observed by worshipping Goddess Durga, Lakshmi, and Parvati, praying for health, prosperity, marriage, fertility, and family well-being. One of the unique traditions of Aadi Pooram is offering bangles (Valayal or Bangles Mala) to the Goddess, symbolizing auspiciousness, divine feminine energy, protection, and blessings for women and families. Devotees believe that offering bangles to the Divine Mother invokes Her grace for marital harmony, safe pregnancies, healthy children, and abundant prosperity.

Sri Ganesha Temple warmly invites devotees to participate in this year's Aadi Pooram Celebration on Friday, August 14, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM. The celebration includes Sri Durga Abhishekam, followed by the beautiful Special Bangles Alankaram of Sri Ambal, adorned with the bangles lovingly offered by devotees. The Puja continues with Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Parayanam, Deeparadhana, Naivedyam, Arati, and Prasadam. Devotees wishing to sponsor a Bangles Mala Offering are requested to bring their bangles to the temple before 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 13, so they may be incorporated into the Goddess's special Alankaram during the celebration.
