A Month of Devotion to the Divine Mother
Aadi Durga Mahotsavam is the temple's observance of the sacred Tamil month of Aadi, a time devotees turn to the Divine Mother for protection, prosperity, and spiritual strength. This year, the mahotsavam runs from July 17 – August 14, 2026, with the Fridays of Aadi, known as Aadi Velli, held as especially auspicious for worshipping Goddess Durga.
The month's offerings include Bhagavathy Seva, a Shanthi Kriya rooted in Kerala Tantra Sastra performed for Loka Kshemam, the well-being of all creation, and Durga Manjal Abhishekam, where turmeric is offered to the Goddess as a symbol of purity and protection.
The Aadi Masa Vilakku Puja brings devotees together in lamp-lighting prayer, while Aadi Pooram honors Sri Andal with Valayal Malai, garlands of bangles symbolizing devotion and surrender to the Divine Mother.
