Sri Ganesha Chaturthi Dasa Dina Mahotsavam 2026
Sri Ganesha Temple Plano cordially invites devotees, families, and friends to celebrate Sri Ganesha Chaturthi Dasa Dina Mahotsavam 2026, a grand 10-day festival from September 11 through September 20, 2026, at 6508 K-Avenue, Plano, TX 75074.
The Mahotsavam will feature daily Ganapathi Homam, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam, Sahasranama Archana, special alankarams, Gagara Ganapathi Archana, Aarathi, Bhajans, Nada Samarpanam, special Ganesha Chaturthi pujas, Ganesha Mela, Ratha Yatra and Sri Ganesha Visarjan.
Daily Alankarams & Festival Highlights
Each day of the festival will feature a special alankaram for Sri Ganesha. The celebrations begin with Haridra Alankaram on September 11, followed by Kumkum Alankaram on September 12, Vibhuthi Alankaram on September 13, Raja Alankaram on Ganesha Chaturthi Day on September 14, Chandana Alankaram on September 15, Maragada Alankaram on September 16, Navaneeta Alankaram on September 17, Abharana Vastram Alankaram on September 18, and Shakambari Alankaram on September 19. The festival concludes with Raja Alankaram on September 20.
The opening day, Friday, September 11, begins at 8:30 AM with Anugna, Kalasha Sthapana and Puja, followed by Sri Ganesha Abhishekam, Sahasranama Archana, Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, Aarathi, Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam, Gagara Ganapathi Archana, and evening Aarathi with Prasadam.
On Sunday, September 13, devotees can also participate in the Samuhika Swarna Gowri Puja at 7:00 PM, in addition to the regular festival programs.
Ganesha Chaturthi Day – Monday, September 14
The temple will be open all day from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM on Ganesha Chaturthi Day.
- 8:30 AM – Shangu Puja
- 9:00 AM – 108 Modaka Ganapathi Homam
- 10:00 AM – Shangu Abhishekam
The celebrations continue with Alankaram, Bhajans, Gagara Ganapathi Archana, Ganesha Talam, Aarathi and Prasadam.
Archana will be available approximately every 15 minutes from 1:30 PM to 8:45 PM. Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by Special Archana at 7:30 PM.
Daily Festival Programs
Regular festival programs include Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana, noon Aarathi, Gagara Ganapathi Archana and evening Aarathi with Prasadam. Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam will also be presented on several days during the Mahotsavam.
Ganesha Mela – Saturday, September 19
Celebrate with the community at the Ganesha Mela from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The evening will feature live food, kids entertainment, jewelry and apparel stalls, and cultural programs.
Earlier that day, the temple will observe Shakambari Alankaram with Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam at 9:00 AM, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana at 9:30 AM, Aarathi at 12:00 PM, Bhajans from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Gagara Ganapathi Archana at 7:30 PM, and Aarathi with Prasadam at 7:45 PM.
Grand Finale – Sunday, September 20
The final day of the Dasa Dina Mahotsavam begins at 9:00 AM with Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam and 108 Kalasha Sthapana, followed by 108 Milk Kalasha Abhishekam at 10:00 AM.
At 10:30 AM, the celebrations continue with Raja Alankaram, Bhajans Program, Gagara Ganapathi Archana and Ganesha Talam.
The grand Ratha Yatra and Sri Ganesha Visarjan will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by Aarathi and Prasadam.

Eco-friendly Clay Ganeshas are available for $51 through online pre-booking. Pre-ordered Clay Ganeshas will be available for pickup beginning September 10, 2026.

Special sponsorship opportunities are also available for Ganesha Chaturthi Day, Mahaprasadam, Raja Alankaram, 108 Modaka Ganapathi Homam, Shangu Abhishekam, 108 Milk Kalasha Abhishekam and the special alankarams offered throughout the festival.
