Sri Ganesha Chaturthi Dasa Dina Mahotsavam 2026 is a ten-day celebration at Sri Ganesha Temple Plano from September 11 through September 20, 2026. The festival includes daily pujas, homams, abhishekams, special alankarams, bhajans, Nada Samarpanam, Ganesha Mela, Ratha Yatra and Sri Ganesha Visarjan.
Throughout the Mahotsavam, regular religious programs include Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana, Gagara Ganapathi Archana, Aarathi and Prasadam. Special alankarams are performed on different days of the festival.

September 11 – Opening Day
The Mahotsavam begins with Anugna, Kalasha Sthapana and Puja at 8:30 AM, followed by Sri Ganesha Abhishekam and Sahasranama Archana at 9:30 AM, Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam at 10:00 AM and Aarathi at 12:00 PM. Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam are scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by Gagara Ganapathi Archana at 7:30 PM and Aarathi with Prasadam at 7:45 PM.
September 12 – Kumkum Alankaram
The day's programs include Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam at 8:30 AM, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana at 9:30 AM and Aarathi at 12:00 PM. Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam are scheduled from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by Gagara Ganapathi Archana at 7:30 PM and Aarathi with Prasadam at 7:45 PM.
September 13 – Vibhuthi Alankaram & Samuhika Swarna Gowri Puja
Programs include Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam at 8:30 AM, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana at 9:30 AM, Aarathi at 12:00 PM and Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
A special Samuhika Swarna Gowri Puja will be held at 7:00 PM, followed by Gagara Ganapathi Archana at 7:30 PM and Aarathi with Prasadam at 7:45 PM. Puja sponsorship for Samuhika Swarna Gowri Vratam is $31. Participants may bring fruits and flowers.
September 14 – Ganesha Chaturthi Day
The temple will be open all day from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Special Ganesha Chaturthi programs begin with Shangu Puja at 8:30 AM, followed by 108 Modaka Ganapathi Homam at 9:00 AM and Shangu Abhishekam at 10:00 AM.
The celebrations continue with Alankaram, Bhajans, Gagara Ganapathi Archana, Ganesha Talam, Aarathi and Prasadam. Archanas will be available every 15 minutes from 1:30 PM to 8:45 PM. Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam are scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by Special Archana at 7:30 PM.
September 15 to September 18
The festival continues with Chandana Alankaram on September 15, Maragada Alankaram on September 16, Navaneeta Alankaram on September 17 and Abharana Vastram Alankaram on September 18.
Regular programs during these days include Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana, noon Aarathi, evening Bhajans and Nada Samarpanam, Gagara Ganapathi Archana and Aarathi with Prasadam.
September 19 – Shakambari Alankaram & Ganesha Mela
Shakambari Alankaram will be observed with Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam at 9:00 AM, Sri Ganesha Abhishekam followed by Sahasranama Archana at 9:30 AM and Aarathi at 12:00 PM. A Bhajans program is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by Gagara Ganapathi Archana at 7:30 PM and Aarathi with Prasadam at 7:45 PM.
Ganesha Mela will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with free entry. Activities include food stalls, kids entertainment, Mehndi stalls, jewelry and apparel stalls, guided tours of the new temple, and cultural music and dance programs. Cultural performances on the outdoor stage are scheduled from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
September 20 – Dasa Dina Mahotsava Grand Finale
The concluding day begins at 9:00 AM with Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam and 108 Kalasha Sthapana. This is followed by 108 Milk Kalasha Abhishekam at 10:00 AM and Raja Alankaram, Bhajans, Gagara Ganapathi Archana and Ganesha Talam beginning at 10:30 AM.
Ratha Yatra and Sri Ganesha Visarjan will take place at 12:00 PM, followed by Aarathi and Prasadam.
Eco-Friendly Clay Ganesha
Eco-friendly Clay Ganeshas are available for $51 through online pre-booking. Pre-ordered Clay Ganeshas will be available for pickup starting September 10, 2026.
For participation in the September 20 Visarjan procession, Clay Ganeshas should be brought to the temple by 10:00 AM. Only Clay Ganeshas prepared and provided by the temple will be accepted for Visarjan.
